When I was wondering what to photograph yesterday I saw this coffee cup that I’d been keeping to photograph with the business card.
I really like the white on black and the use of bold and light font. Not so sure about the kerning though – all the letters in Pablo touch each other except the P and none of the letters in Rusty’s touch each other. It makes me wonder whether:
a)the designer didn’t look very closely when he made the font bold
b)he knew exactly what he was doing
c)he tried to make all the letters fit on the line properly, but didn’t do it evenly… perhaps looking at the overall impression rather than the details?
In terms of the photo itself, the depth of field makes me uneasy, perhaps I should try to close the aperture and use a tripod. This one was without flash; I like the starkness of the one with flash, except for the angle of the shadow.
